About this event

In this information session facilitated by Volunteering Victoria and the Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre, you will learn more about what volunteering is, the variety of opportunities and where to look for them.

This online session will explore the impact you can have on the community through volunteering, what volunteering can bring to your life - including your career - and where to go for support and information about volunteering.

You will gain a strong understanding of your rights as a volunteer and the first steps you can take to get involved and support your community through volunteering. There will also be plenty of time to ask our facilitators your questions about volunteering!

You will learn:

  • General overview of volunteering, including your Rights and Responsibilities as a volunteer
  • Legal differences between employees and volunteers
  • How to determine what volunteer role is right for you
  • Where to look for a volunteer role
  • How volunteering can enhance your career
  • How to use and build skills through volunteering

The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre (BVRC) encourages active participation in the life of the community by promoting, supporting and resourcing volunteering within the City of Boroondara and surrounding areas.

The centre offers information, referral and support services for people who are currently volunteers or who would like to become volunteers, and also community-based organisations that coordinate volunteer programs.

All services offered through the BVRC are free of charge to both volunteers and organisations.
